Mahindra XUV400 EV India debut highlights: Mumbai-based home-grown automaker, Mahindra & Mahindra, has unveiled its first-ever electric SUV today. The new 2022 Mahindra XUV400 made its world premiere in India this evening. Test drives of the same will begin in December 2022 across 16 Indian cities in phase one. The official launch of the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will take place in January 2023. Moreover, pre-bookings and deliveries will commence in the same month.

The new Mahindra XUV400 will take on the likes of the Tata Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV, etc. In terms of dimensions, it measures 4200 mm in length, 1821 mm in width, and has a class-leading wheelbase of 2600 mm. It will offer a maximum boot space of 418 litres. Mahindra claims that the XUV400 is the fastest EV in the non-luxury car segment as it sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds, thanks to class-leading 310 Nm torque, and has a top speed of 150 kmph.

The Mahindra XUV400 gets a 39.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and is claimed to offer a driving range of 456 kilometres on a single charge as per Indian driving cycle standards (MIDC). Moreover, this electric SUV will take 50 minutes to complete 80 per cent charging with the 50kW DC fast charger. When charged via a 7.2 kW/32A outlet, it will take 6 hours 30 minutes to attain 0 to 100 per cent charge, and the same can be achieved in 13 hours using a standard 3.3 kW/16A domestic socket.

The all-new Mahindra XUV400 will lock horns against the Tata Nexon EV Prime, Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, etc.

The Mahindra XUV400 is expected to feature an Adrenox-powered touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options and might get ADAS as well.

The new XUV400 will be based on the XUV300. However, it will get new LED headlamps, new bumpers, a closed grille, new alloys, and updated rear-end.

Mahindra has not yet revealed the specifications of the XUV400. However, it is expected to offer a driving range of 350-400 km on a single charge.

The Mahindra XUV400 EV is likely to be offered with two different battery pack options paired with a 150 bhp single front-wheel-drive electric motor.

The upcoming Mahindra XUV400 will be the first electric SUV from the house of this home-grown UV (Utility Vehicle) maker.
