Developed alongside ANA, the new site will be located at the Lisbon Airport and equipped to recharge a total of 10 vehicles simultaneously.
Galp has announced a new partnership with Aeroportos de Portugal (ANA) to establish the country’s largest ultra-fast charging hub for electric vehicles (EV). The site will be located at the airport’s public car park, which is integrated in the Mobi.E network. It’s set to consist of 10 ultrafast 180 kW DC charging points that will allow for a total of 10 vehicles to be charged at the same time.
The protocol signed between both parties will last for 10 years and acts as a symbol of the commitment of the two companies with the goal of decarbonisation in the light vehicle transport sector. For Galp, this is a new step in its path to evolve the electric mobility market, strengthening its leadership through the launch and expansion of services and charging networks for electric vehicles.
The ultrafast charging hub will be located in the car park called "Parque da Nora", on Rua C of Lisbon airport. Depending on the type of vehicle, it will charge its battery from 20% to 80% in 15 minutes. For VINCI Airports, ANA's concessionaire, the installation of EV charging stations at its airport and in its surroundings supports the goal of decarbonising the entire mobility chain.
The initiative also includes the provision and management of a public charging infrastructure of universal access. It currently has 41 normal and one fast EV charging sockets installed throughout the 13 car parks of the airport, in addition to the 48 private charging points for ANA Group.
Galp currently has more than 1,000 charging points and aims to reach the 10,000 mark by 2025. The firm aims to develop its strategy with fast and ultra-fast charging points distributed throughout the Iberian Peninsula, for both its current network of stations and on other locations such as public roads, shopping centres, parking spaces and retail chains.
